There are so many opportunities for family fun. If you don’t live in the area, plan your next trip to Wilsonville—you won’t regret it. If you do live in the area, plan more family outings to take advantage of everything that you can do together. Here are some of the fun things to do in Wilsonville that you’ll most definitely enjoy.

World of Speed

World of Speed
This isn’t your same-old museum—this is a new kind of motorsports museum. Found within the walls of World of Speed are historic racecars and motorcycles that will take you on a story through American car history. Many different types of motorsports are included in this museum, giving you broader knowledge and experience. NASCAR is, of course, included, but it’s in great company with open-wheel racing, drag and road racing, land speed racing, and motorcycle racing.

Additionally, this isn’t simply a museum where you just ooh and aah at the things you’re seeing. There are quite a few interactive exhibits and hands-on activities. For instance, there’s a very popular racecar-driving simulator. This lets you (or your child) drive like a professional for 12 minutes. If you desire, you can also be taken behind-the-scenes in the world of racing.

The World of Speed museum is open Tuesday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. On Saturday it’s open 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and on Sunday it’s open 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Wilsonville Lanes

Wilsonville Lanes
Bowling is a classic game that has been enjoyed by adults and children of all ages for years. It’s particularly a family favorite. In addition to regular bowling, Wilsonville Lanes features Cosmic Bowling, a bowling experience with music, laser lights, black lights, runway lights, and even disco lights. During special Cosmic events, their lanes even glow in the dark.

There are also leagues, tournaments, and a youth program. If you’re hungry, there’s a café where you can grab some food. There’s also a Pro Shop you can take advantage of and a wide array of events ranging from holiday themes to Ladies’ Nights that the bowling alley hosts.

The hours for Wilsonville Lanes are Monday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–12 a.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m.

Vanguard Brewery

This may not be suitable for young children, but if your family skews older (and everyone is of legal age), the Vanguard Brewery is the stop for you. This is an independent and family-owned and -operated microbrewery. The beers are made in small batches with ingredients that are both high-quality and locally grown. Minors aren’t allowed in the taproom. However, they’ve added a kitchen with great options.
Vanguard Brewery
There are some core beers that are year-round favorites, but Vanguard Brewery also has limited-release beers and seasonal beers, so be sure to visit the brewery regularly, as there will always be something new to try.

Hours can vary at Vanguard Brewery, depending on what you’re looking for. The taproom is open Sunday–Wednesday, 3 p.m.–9 p.m.; Thursday, 3 p.m.–10 p.m.; Friday, 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m.; and Saturdays, 2 p.m.–9 p.m. The kitchen has lunch on Fridays starting at 11:30 a.m. and has dinner Tuesday–Sunday, 4 p.m.–8 p.m.
